======Troubleshooting Your Descent 3 Mission======
Of course, the first thing to do is [[VerifyYourMine run Verify and fix any errors verify finds]]. Another good troubleshooting tool is Atan's mod, [[LevelInfo Level Info]]. Using these two tools, find and fix any shell errors first.
====Ding!====
Sometimes a level will die with a ding. There are a number of reasons this can happen.
==Level dings when automap is called.==
//Level seems fine until the automap is called, then... //Ding!// it crashes.//
- Remove any unused entries in the GAM file. ref: http://www.planetdescent.net/index.php?topic=84.0
====Shifting Textures====
As you test fly your level, you might notice odd movements of the textures. Usually this means a face is not planer or has concavity. You need a good shell to build a good mine! [[VerifyYourMine Read 'Verify Your Mine']], and fix any errors verify finds]].
====Missing, or Blue/Purple Instead of Terrain====
In a level with terrain, sometimes you can see too far. The terrain disappears in the distance, replaced by the Blueness . You can try turning up 'Render Depth' in your D3 settings. If you are in-game, press 'F2' > 'Detail'. You may not be able to get all the settings turned up all the way. I've found that if I turn both the detail and render sliders all the way up, the render slider goes back to 40. So I now have detail at 24, and render at 100. Experiment with yours, the maximum you can go to may vary, or you may just prefer different settings. (screenshots pending... ;) )

Ok, that's not a whole lot of troubleshooting help. If you are stuck with a problem feel free to ask, the best place is [[http://planetdescent.net Planet Descent]]. And with your help, this page will expand.
