Prepare For Descent!

Pyro GXDescentiaPedia Extrude0

While using D3Edit, V39 recently, I noticed a small quirk which should be noted. This also affects V38/2, but not V37. It's not a big issue, as there is a very easy work-around... Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I will describe it pictorially:

image
A minimum of one face. Could be part of a room or level.

image
Open extrude dialog and set to '0' units, '1' step, delete base, flat.

image
It does not appear to have changed the face, but now we have five faces and eight verts.

image
Ignore the errors for now...

image
DO NOT remove the duplicate verts.

image
Make the face current and shrink it. (In this example, five times) As you can see the texture on four faces is extremely stretched. (as they should be, considering I stretched them from zero.) In V37 and earlier, three of these four faces would have been split.

image
Just to show why I would want to do such a thing, I have extruded the center face...

image
...like this.

image
In V37 and earlier, marking the faces and setting them to default U/V would work fine. In V38/2 and V39, however, they do not change. As you can see, one face has gone to default U/V, three have not. The texture U/V has changed, but not the way we would want. I have tried every way I can think of to reset these faces to default, and have found only one...

image
...run Verify. Now verify reports no errors, and more importantly...

image
I can now reset U/V to default.

In game example:
