How To:

Edit or Create Page

Editing or creating a page is easy!

Note: Due to the incessant spam, I have locked all pages. If you wish to be added to the Access Control List (ACL), let me know and I will add your name. You cannot create or edit pages until you are on the Access Control List!

Before you can create or edit a page:
Once you are registered and logged in, you can leave a comment in the comments section, telling me to add your name to the ACL.
Once you are on the ACL, and you are logged in, you can edit existing pages, or create new ones.

There is, however, one monkey wrench in the ACL system. That is, that most pages use an ACL in the config file. But some pages have their own, individual ACL. If you try to edit a page but find you cannot, I may have set the ACL for that individual page, and need to add your name to that list also... please let me know which page(s) you encounter this problem on. I am fixing this, but I don't have a list of what pages are affected.

To edit a page:
Go to the page you want to edit. Double click on it, or use the 'Edit' link below. Start typing... visit FormattingRules (click the open book icon in the editing window to open FormattingRules in a new window) for help. Add links to other DescentiaPedia pages by simply typing the name of the page. When you are done editing a page, please leave a brief note (where it says 'Please add a note on your edit' to let everyone know about the changes you've made.

To create a new page:

To create a new page, you can do so by adding a link to you new page to another page, simply by typing the name of the new page on the existing page, then store the page, and click on the new link. You will be told the page does not exist, and asked if you want to create it. Click 'create' and you will create your new page. Start typing! Click the open book symbol above for formatting rules, instructions on how to make links, inserting images, etc. At the bottom of your page add:
----
==Categories==
(name of category here)

This will put a link to your page on a list of pages in that category.
You can include your page under any category you feel like by adding the name of the category page under 'Categories'. Add more than one category if needed. You can also link to any other page by simply including the page name anywhere on your page.

To Make a Second Page

Simply put the name of your second page on your first page. After you click 'Store' you can click on the name to create your second page!
